The Great Unknown

Fear is the law ruling too many lives. Yet one thing about fear is certain; it prevents us from living wholly and fully. The reasons behind fear are beyond number. Death is at the top of the list for many, so too, the fear of being unloveable. Others are afraid something they passed is going to catch up and ruin their future. Some are afraid because they’ve always been afraid. Too many use substance or beliefs to numb themselves, depriving themselves of their power for so long that they can’t even name the spark that ignited their fear. Other use laughter as a mask, unwilling to reveal themselves and heal what started it. Anger and bitterness are trembling evidence of toxic fear among those who choose to squat in the realm of unforgivingness. Ignorance runs under fear, causing some to be lemmings, agreeing with what’s popular just to get along.

From my perspective, the greatest unknown is whether enough of us will survive our collective decisions long enough to grow and know the fulness of our human potential.
